Vizhinjam Rock-cut Cave
Situated 17 km away from the city, this cave temple is one of the most visited tourist places in Trivandrum. This 8 th century rock-cut sculpture is single-celled and houses the deity Vinandhara Dakshinamurthi.
Another significant temple in its proximity is Bhagavathy Temple. It dates to 9th and 10th AD. A marine aquarium is also located nearby that features rare marine ornamental fish.
Vellayani Lake
1.7 km form Vizhinjam, here you can come to get away from the crowd to enjoy a
relaxing day and a romantic sunset by the lake.
Anchuthengu Fort
This island is a quaint, quiet area sandwiched between the sea and backwaters. This old
beauty had high relevance during the colonial times of India and today attracts visits

Koyikkal Palace
The palace was built in the 16 th century for Umayamma Rani of Venad the Royal Family;
a double-storied building built using traditional architectural styles unique to Kerala.
Today, it is a folklore and a numismatics museum. Its antique collection provides one
with valuable insight into the past of Kerala.
